THOSE 7 MINUTES...
YOU ARE ALIVE 7 Minutes AFTER YOU ARE DECLARED DEAD
In March 2018, Canadian doctors from the ICU (intensive care unit) found that a patient had sustained brain activity for seven minutes after turning his life support machine off. Though the medics declared the person clinically dead, the brain waves continued to occur as if he is in sleep. According to research, it is also found that the experience of death can vary widely among individual patients. Scientists are yet to find out ways to monitor the brain on the brink of death.
The film "Flatlines" of 2017 American fictional science
psychological horror drama also encourages that reviving the dead can increase
normal brain activity, where 5 medical students take off on a daring experiment
to acquire insight into the mystery of what lies beyond the bounds of life. It begins
when they trigger near-death experiences by stopping their hearts for a short
period of time, as their try-outs become more and more perilous, each of them
must face up to the sins from their past while they face an extramundane
consequence of journeying to the other side.
A new study submits that cardiac arrest survivors can
die again while they are dead, this means that the dead body can be trapped in
a state of consciousness though the brain is still functioning for a short
period, which means the patient may even hear the doctor declaring him dead. The
study shows that cardiac arrest survivors can return to life while they are
dead.
Tests showed that the patient’s brain appeared to continue to function and experienced the same brain currents as in deep sleep. A recent study shows that even rats show a similar pattern of activity in their brain seven minutes after it is dead.
The brain showed that the low gamma waves produced during the early stages of consciousness, such as the first few minutes after death, became stronger during this short period of time. This suggests that our final journey into permanent unconsciousness may indeed involve a short state of heightened consciousness and memory.
So, shouldn’t we prioritize creating worthy memories?
